Buying Opportunities Galore

I loved this message found in MMb. Read it;
In the last 4-5 years I do not think the markets have given such a buying oppourtunity. If there is a capitulation ahead today, Buy all fundamentally strong stocks without hesitation.
Markets will recover...Do not listen to scaremongerers, Do you think India is winding up??? yes there is doom and gloom ahead but the markets will recover. Invest what you can hold for a year or so and you will see double to triple digit gains over a 2 year period.

Buffet also made a paper loss on his first investment but finally made money when he sold which went on to give 4 times more returns had he held on..which is when he learnt to hold for the long term...
Look at the past the US came out of the great depression as well. The markets recovered long before the economy did.

Is reliance closing down?? then why the closing down sale on its stock price?? The reason is that sensex/index based scrips have FII holding who may be selling for cash flow reasons, as well as hedge funds selling to take advantage of the fera in the market.

I believe in a simple theory When the panwalla(no offence he may e richer and cleverer than you and me) asks you "saab kya share leneka?" is the time to sell and when everybody says sell the world is coming to an end is the right time to BUY!!

In the short term you may lose money on paper but when it recovers your paper loses disappear soonner than you can blink your eye!!!

Sell TTK Prestige

Dear,
Very recently, I attended EGM of TTK Prestige. I normally don\`t attend these AGM/EGM unless there is something brewing up. In case of TTK Prestige too, I attended because the Company wanted to Delist its shares from the Stock Exchanges.
Me and my friend Mr.M.R.Ravindranath, opposed the move the delist the shares. In spite of standing by the company during difficult periods, the management was not willing to share wealth. When the Company came out with a public issue at a premium, we all contributed. Even when the stock price came down, we did not sell our shares. Afterwards what happened now is that the land which the Company has appreciated more than 200 crores. Now, they do not want the shareholders to enjoy those fruits and hence want to delist.
We knew that the management/promoters with more than 72% would win the ballot vote, but we wanted to register our disapproval ot the company\`s move and hence forced the management into a pressure cooker situation.

However, this is not the reason for my SELL call. This is because what the Chairman TT Jagannathan said. Listen to what he said \"We are making soft investments, which we cannot capitalise. It will come from profit and loss account. So, the profits will dip. Then share price will go down further, which is not good for the shareholders. Hence, we are delisting the shares and buying back from the public\".
If the Chairman of the company himself tells that the profits will dip, then I do not see any reason in holding the stock of the Company. Hence, my call, SELL TTK PRESTIGE.

Srikanth Shankar Matrubai.

Market Meltdown

This letter was published in Today's Deccan Chronicle, Bangalore edition in BOLD.

There has been a lot of turbulence in the global market in recent times (Global bailout nears $2 tr, Oct. 6). The global market is strongly interlinked and any disturbance in one area tends to send ripples across other markets.
In the case of the US or the UK, the ripples are stronger as these financial houses are large and the volume of transaction is huge. There is always a connection between currency and the shares transacted, as the currency used represents sale or purchase.
In India too, people are rushing to sell their investments ignoring the fundamentals. The Indian economy is resilient, sufficiently insulated and is attractive which even our finance minister has acknowledged.
Most market experts feel that the current turbulence is temporary and not a complete meltdown. SRIKANTH SHANKAR MATRUBAI

Making Disabled Self-Reliant

This letter by me was published in today's Deccan Chronicle Bangalore edition.
Make them self-reliant
Policies and legislation for the physically challenged must be tempered with com passion and urgency. The Centre had decided to reserve 3 per cent of the government jobs for the disabled way back in 1995. However, the very fact that it is yet to come into force shows the utter lack of sensitivity towards the disabled
We should not forget that the disabled do not seek anyone’s mercy, but just support. If they are trained in some vocational activities, they will earn their bread themselves. The phys ically challenged can also b employed if they are taught the nuances of business ven tures.
Also, the state govern ment can replicate the Orissa government’s initiative where a cash incentive is given to the bride or groom who comes forward to marry a physically challenged person. Even companies employing disabled persons can be given incentive and subsidies so that more will emulate the practice.
